The Bahrain Netball League is pleased to announce that a netball umpiring course will be held on
13th and 14th November 2009 at the Rugby Club (Saar)
The course will run in parallel with the trials for the
Inter-Gulf teams*.
The
course is targeted at those people who have had basic training and are aiming for a C badge. It is expected that most participants
will have done some umpiring before and are familiar with the basic rules.
The course is in two parts
Part One : theory
You will be guided through a workbook which is designed to bring your knowledge
up to the level required for a C badge and there will be an opportunity to take a C badge theory test.
Part Two : practical
During the trials for the Inter-Gulf teams, you will be mentored whilst umpiring
in a real game situation.
Qualification achieved
Participants who achieve a level of proficiency will be awarded a
Beginners Badge. This badge will enable participants to move to the C badge level in the New Year
Course leaders

Equipment required
Participants will need to wear clothes suitable for umpiring and also have
a whistle of a standard suitable for umpiring. Please also bring notebooks and writing equipment
Cost
There will be a cost of BHD 10 to cover workbook, venue and certification. This must be paid
on arrival on Friday 13th
Timing
On both days, the course will run from 9 a.m. until 12 noon
*Those people also
wishing to try out for the Inter-Gulf teams will
be accommodated as best as possible on the umpiring
course.
